The Greyhounds finish the regular season with a 4-3 win over Kingâs Ridge. Kingâs Ridge took an early lead scoring a run in the top of the second inning. The Hounds responded with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Caden Smith singled, Tanner Huyck walked, and Jake Pralgo singled to load the bases with one out. Ryan Webb delivered with a sacrifice fly to score Smith and tie the game at 1 after two innings. The Hounds took the lead in the third taking advantage of a couple Kingâs Ridge errors. Leading off the inning Buddy Floyd grounded to first and was safe on an error. Jared Miller and Antonio Jareno each drew walks to load the bases. Caden Smith hit a RBI sacrifice fly to center scoring Floyd. An errant throw to third allowed Miller to score the second run. Kingâs Ridge scored two runs in the sixth inning to tie the game at 3. In the bottom of the seventh inning Ryan Webb walked and Michael Wynne singled to right field. The ball got past the right fielder allowing Webb to score the winning run for the walk-off victory.
Max Pralgo started on the mound and went four innings allowing only one run on two hits. Harris East and Andrew Herlitz each pitched an inning of relief. Ryan Webb got the win pitching the seventh inning. Caden Smith was 2 for 2, with a RBI Sacrifice and a run scored.
The Hounds complete the regular season with a 24 â 5 record. Pope will host the first round of the state playoffs on Friday April 28th with a double header against Creekside High School. Game time will be announced shortly.
