Lassiter High School
The Greyhounds returned from spring break with a win over Lassiter 4 -3. The game remained scoreless through the first three innings behind another quality start by Chase Smith and solid defense that turned double plays in both the first and second innings
Pope put 3 runs on the board in the top of the fourth inning with a leadoff single to right field by Caden Smith and a walk by Tanner Huyck. Jake Pralgo reached on a fielderâs choice as Lassiter got an out at third on the bunt. Connor Frost advanced the runners to second and third on a sacrifice bunt. With two outs Michael Wynne lined a single to right center scoring two runs and advancing to second on the throw home. Buddy Floyd followed with a double scoring Wynne from second. Lassiter responded with three runs in the bottom of the third inning. The Hounds regained the lead in the fourth inning as Parker Orr doubled to left to start the inning. Antonio Jareno reached on a fielderâs choice. Tanner Huyck followed with a single. Jake Pralgo singled scoring Jareno with what proved to be the winning run.
Chase Smith started on the mound and went 3 2/3 innings. Reid Robertson earned the win in relief ending the Trojan rally in the third and pitching a scoreless fourth. Ryan Webb pitched the sixth inning for the hold and Scotty LeSieur pitched the seventh inning for the save.
Michael Wynne had a hit and 2 RBIâs, Buddy Floyd had two doubles and an RBI, Jake Pralgo had a hit and an RBI, Jared Miller Tripled, Parker Orr doubled and walked, Caden Smith was 2 for 4 and Tanner Huyck was 2 for 3 with a walk.
The Hounds take on Walton at home today at 2:00pm.
