The Greyhounds lose their first region game to the Cambridge Bears 4-2. Cambridge pitcher Jon Hirschland kept the Pope offense in check going the distance for the Bears. Max Pralgo started on the mound for Pope and kept it close for 5 innings in the hopes of a Pope rally. Reid Robertson pitched a scoreless sixth inning.
The Hounds got on the board in the sixth inning on a solo homer by Parker Orr. The seventh inning started off with what looked like another Pope come from behind victory with Antonio Jareno getting a leadoff single and Tanner Huyck reaching on a hit by pitch. Ryan Webb reached on a bunt single loading the bases with 1 out. Michael Wynne took a pitch in the leg to score Will Lantis who came in to run for Jareno. Buddy Floyd hit a line shot back up the middle that Hirschland managed to knock down and get the force out at home. The Bears managed to get out of the inning with no further runs.
The Greyhounds return from spring break to face Lassiter on Friday night and Walton at home on Saturday afternoon.
