Game Recap

A pair of home runs by Michael Wynne and Jared Miller led Pope to a 9 – 6 victory over the Chattahoochee Cougars. The Cougars scored 2 in the bottom of the second inning but Pope responded with 5 runs in the top of the third. Jake Pralgo led off with a walk and Michael Wynne followed with a homer to left. Jared Miller walked and Parker Orr got hit in the back by a pitch. With runners on first and second Caden Smith singled to score Miller from second. Antonio Jareno followed with a doubled scoring both Will Lantis running for Orr, and Smith.
The Hounds added 4 more in the fifth inning when Jared Miller homered to left to start the inning. Jareno singled and Tanner Huyck walked to set the table for Jake Pralgo who delivered and RBI single to left. Ryan Webb followed with a sharp single to center scoring Connor Frost running for Huyck, and Pralgo.

Antonio Jareno went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 RBI’s and a run scored. Ryan Webb was 2 for 3 with a walk and 2 RBI’s.

Chase Smith started on the mound for the Greyhounds and gave up only 1 earned run on 3 hits through 5 innings for his seventh win of the season. Reed Robertson closed it out for the save.

The Greyhounds are at home Wednesday to take on the Centennial Knights.
