The Greyhounds came from behind to defeat the Nova Titans 5 -4 on a walk-off single by Caden Smith. The Hounds were trailing 4-0 to start the fifth inning. Antonio Jareno led off with a single. Tanner Huyck hit a ground ball to third, with the fielder trying to get the force out at second but Jareno was safe when the second baseman could not come up with the ball. Connor Frost followed with a single scoring Jareno. Parker Orr walked to start the sixth inning, Caden Smith followed with a single and Jareno doubled scoring Orr. Going into the bottom of the seventh with the Hounds trailing 4-2, Buddy Floyd had a leadoff single. Jake Pralgo reached when he got hit by a pitch. Jared Miller put down a sacrifice bunt and reached on a throwing error that scored Floyd. Park Orr loaded the bases on another hit by pitch. Caden Smith came to the plate with the bases loaded and drove a game winning single to center scoring Lantis and Miller.
Antonio Jareno was 2 for 3 with an RBI and run scored. Caden Smith was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIâs. Buddy Floyd was 2 for 4 with a run scored and Connor Frost was 1 for 3 with and RBI.
Jordan Butler got the start on the mound and pitch 3 innings. Harris East pitched 2 innings of relief and Reed Robertson got the win pitching the final 2 innings.
The Hounds extend their record to 17-1 overall and 8-0 in region. Region play continues on Monday with the Hounds playing at Chattahoochee.
