The boys lacrosse program continued their winning ways Friday by defeating the Woodstock Wolverines in their second area contest and then again last night they improved to 4 – 0 when they beat the Mustangs of Kennesaw Mountain 11 – 4. The hounds started off slowly, but began to break it open with a huge scoring play to end the first half.
Senior midfielder Nick Burns pressured a mustang ball carrier and forced a turnover. Burns then scooped up the loose ball, crashed his way through two defenders at midfield and hit junior Jack Regitz on the run. Regitz drove for the cage, and when he drew a defender he flipped a pass to Freshman Matt Oswald who buried a shot in the back of the net just before the horn sounded to end the half. The Hounds were able to carry that momentum into the second half where they opened up their lead, dominating the entire second half where sophomore Sam Metzinger scored three of his five goals on the night.
